Analysis of I Could Have Died

I held you in my arms
I didn’t want the night to end
Eternity
Gently stroking your skin
Till you fell asleep
I could have died
You in my arms
Happy

Your bosom rising
Ever subtle
With each breath whispered
Soft moans with each touch
Toes touching
Taking root
Intertwined
My hand in yours
Your cheek resting on it
Squeezing me as you slept

I drift with you
On a sea of tranquility
Dreams touching
Intertwined
Dark skies and oceans deep
To a time when we didn’t exist
Yet sailed abreast
Plundering the seas
Filling our golden chalices
Drinking from each other’s cup
Leaving kisses on the rim
For the next sip

You are my treasure of the high seas
I wake longing to taste your cup
Steal the kiss from the edge
The sweetness of your wine
The saltiness of your sea
The balance
Of life you bring me.
