Analysis of You Are First And Last

When I open my eyes, my first thoughts are of you
I'm at a loss for what to do
You can't know what I'm going through
But even as I close my eyes, there you are

I am forever moved and changed
From my own body, estranged
My life overturned and my plans all changed
The day that I kissed you

I feel as if this is my first love and my last
And I do not wish to think or take repast
Everything is happening so very fast
I fear nothing but separation from you

Many lovers, many loves all ended in a second
The universe is benevolent and fecund
My heart alive, my burdens lessened
Dreaming in your arms of you

You are first and last
You are everything I dream and do
