Analysis of Warm Asses
I read Charles' poetry before I knew
he was dead
And then Christopher mentioned
in passing that he had died
around the same time
A popular rock star committed suicide...
and I tried not to cry
but it's not all the time you hear
your favourite writer is dead
probably rotted away from liver disease
slow suicide
with his heart cut out by life and booze
trapped on paper by pens
and profound thought - and all the
warm asses
and liqueur in the world
couldn't save him from that.
