Analysis of Though Death is What You Seek
Tell me that you’ve thought,
tell I’m not alone
in wondering how easy it could be
to slip the knife or swallow the pill.
A tiny, fragile creature
held in its own hand,
how easy to close and therefore crush
the being upon itself.
There would be no tears
as the pain would be quick,
and the substances just sitting there
only to take a sip.
Yes, how easy and beautiful it may be,
to be or not to be,
but there is no escaping death
though death is what you seek.
Good thing we can hold on,
good thing we’ve got a grasp,
else we could easily slip,
falling too fast into dark’s hard grip.
