Analysis of Our Abyss

Silence succumbs us all,
To an abyss of hopelessness,
An abyss from which we fall,
An endless fall where dreams escape,
To a surface that's nowhere,
Was the surface even there?
Did we ever see it?
Or did we choose not to care?
Yes, the surface from which we fell,
We know where it is,
Yet we choose not to tell,
For fear that others will find their way,
Out of this abyss of silence,
That keeps violence alive,
Each and every day.
