Analysis of Order of the Logos

Jonathan Walker 1977 (South Africa)

This is a little something called the spoken word
Which some fossils refer to as poetry
It is the ancient art of verbal creativity
Syllabic articulation like brushstrokes on a canvas
Giving light to the mere existence of words

Thank the Logos, the first poet
Through who's words we were created
We glorify him like art glorifies the artist
Like nature shows us
Through reflection, not intentions
Through discernment, not decisiveness

Taste and see that the word is good
It's got milk and honey for you
Words like cookies and coffee
Bagels and cream cheese
Sweet like love sweet
Words that feed my spirit sweet

We are God's poetry, his spoken word
Humanity, the masterpiece of creation
The great epic story, broken and redeemed
Fallen and lifted, hopeless and victorious

We speak because we were spoken
We write because we were written
Poetry is divinity, it transcends time
Speaking truth into darkness
Bringing darkness into light

The guardians of the Logos
Are the truest of poets
For who can give what they have not received?
So I am a priest of the spoken Word
Taste and see that the Lord is good
