Analysis of Onus Probandi

Never in a span...a snapshot
Of a qualm caught in any moment
That I, be haunted by the innocence and
Foibles of my years in the sun...and
I don't have to listen to harangues.

Much as I try to calm your constant fury,
You follow me, as I search the earth for
Some kind of retreat...and as I swim
The rivers and seas...for anchorage.

In your presence, I claim a self-imposed
Exile...that the menace of the years
Don't invite reproach and tears.

There's nothing to tell, other than what's
Telling: we are, and we will be...always.

I am, who I am, and I will be with you,
Till all moments of time are gone...
Like those you'd revisit--time after time.

You were my Galatea when I was king.
You are my Dulcinea,
Long before we have become. ...
