Analysis of i am my me own enemy

The monstrous thoughts smack at my wretched door
I take a tiny peep through my broken window and kindly ignore
The knocks decide to get louder and vulgar
As though the screams of a banshee seething with hunger

The scrawny mind cries in sheer despair
The enemies flood the battleground with a mission to impair
Crushing all hope of fight they rein power, axing my inner voice
I kneel to the torment, the skeleton I have become without a solitary choice

I despairingly quest for help but not a bit is served
I turn to my reflection with a disbelieving promise to preserve
My shattered echo a starving heart
Chapters of my life an exhibit in which my cries have become tattoos of art
