Analysis of Golden Pages

Golden pages, bookmarked with tears,
And I turn to turning them--
Whenever and wherever you'd come,
Like music in the night.

Your beauty, so dazzlingly
Enchanting, so blinded me that I made
The bullies (acting like bees) go away
With words that cut like scimitar...words
You clearly relished hearing.

I was Pygmalion without a Galatea, when
All along, you were there...much lovelier.

With your prodding, I jumped
In the "arena" to battle Ulysses.
...and the "Gazette" proclaimed--
"Demosthenes Against Ulysses?--A Mismatch!"

I lost. I died. And, you cried like a girl lost
In the rain. 'Twas when you "left" that
I came back to life--a fool. Sweet Angel,
Now and always, I'll be crying like a boy lost
In the sun and--rain...turning the golden pages.
