Analysis of Folie A Deux/Dues Ex Machina aka The Madness Of Two/ Gods Of The Machine

Here I sit alone in solitude again
Never am I in the company of friends
If I could end my loneliness and truly love someone
Instead a sad pathetic man I have become

My skin is cold, no warmth within
A machine wearing human skin

Somewhere in the universe is my soul mate
And in my heart someone exists just like myself
Undone by life, trapped in this asylum
Just yearning to be free from their own cell

Her heart is black, her eyes are grey
Without emotion every day
Seeking someone to love
To make her sadness fade away
Someone to make her smile and laugh
To bring escape from her dismay

If I could just reach out to her
And hold her in my arms
Then we'd face the rising tide as one
And do this whole world harm

This cursed Earth collapsing down
Upon its flesh our fists shall pound
Unleashing hell and disaster
And we'll live happily ever after

And suddenly we found each other
Our dreams were realized
Let the celebration begin
Let the whole world die

We have been driven to this
Personal apocalypse
We are machines stripped of our souls
The flood of madness drowned us whole

For us it has come down to this
A warm embrace, a lasting kiss
Between ourselves a harmony
Intertwined by insanity
Until death do us part
Until death do us part

Why couldn't we be just like all the rest
Why couldn't we just find some happiness
Without the dark desires that led us down this path
Without this dark desire to inflict our wrath

Who cares if someone dies, who cares whose blood is spilled?
The satisfaction of a mad prophecy fulfilled
The joy of murder, the harrowing screams
A realization of our sick dreams
We seek, destroy, we dominate
The flood of madness drives our fate

But nothing lasts forever
Nothing can last forever

Soon comes the end of our thrall
Our thirst for blood leaves us
With our backs against the wall
The enemies they rise up
And we find ourselves outnumbered
Staring at the barrels of the guns
No longer do the lunatics
Reign over the asylum

For nothing lasts forever
Nothing can last forever

As this strange failytale concludes
This overwhelming madness shared by two
The dream is over, soon all will fade to black
No longer in this world will we be trapped

For Hell awaits, the end for us is near
Time for our wretched lives to expire
My love, let's go out in a blaze of glory
Showered in a hail of gunfire
For nothing lasts forever

I'm in my early 40's and like writing. Wish I had some musical talent, I would have liked to take some of my stuff and put it in song. More of my stuff can be found here: hall2369.blogspot.com more…
