Analysis of Distant Lovers

In a dream she wept,
tears like golden icicles,
shades of silver want
echoed through their cold beauty,
shivering her sleep.
Love was dark shades lost inside
the fired magical
throes of distant memory,
yet its presence blew
winds of longing toward her.
Alone, her heart fed
the silence strong-willed distress,
tossed sheets bled their sweat
while pillows fought strangled locks.
The night was open,
closed with an old fever-ache,
scents of fear rode wild
across her soft brow; furrowed
with time's stretching hands.
He walked across foreign shores,
companionless eyes,
in thoughts he caressed her skin,
touched her lips with his,
arms wrapping sensual warmth,
alive, he cried out
her name, gently the breeze shook
it from the tongue's roll,
carried it over sea, land.
Heavy with the loss,
music touched chambers' echoes,
danced light and dark in
step with generous sighing.
To the east wandered
his cold-fierce warrior gaze,
his legs took firm ground.
With a gentle flickered touch
that swept her longing,
her nightmare moved into joy,
God's wisdom saw fit
to bring them closer in life,
love beckoning breath.
She felt his bold strength touch her,
caress her spirit,
lift her from empty bed's fold
into welcome eyes;
full of whispered promises.
With a flash of teeth
the morning took her young face,
washed it with dawn's song.
Memory slipped to her grins,
he was coming home.
With a step like air rushing,
she opened her spirit wide.
