Analysis of Descendants of Darkness

At the point of the ecliptic I wait,
brothers and sisters roam this domain's wisps;
curled wild strokes of atmospheric danger.
Exhilaration exhumes lost souls while
we tastefully devour their soft sad screams.

I'm an individualist though
looking at me; if your eye ever caught
my supreme presence, you'd think I was quite
ordinary, but do not be deceived
by my outer appearance for that's just
a shell which is used as I tap my foot.

One day the low bows of recognition
will be before the long shadow I cast
across those fear-stained shivers you'll release.

Call me Sir for the time being and weep,
tears will be the drink of my unique choice,
if later you are spared my pleasure
or cold wrath then possibly I'll tell you
the gift of my true name, but for now do
as I say or you'll face the consequence.

Luxury is fascination's tired slave
that crawls on its stomach for our laughter,
and though my siblings may appear to be
free as they watch actions I roll with malice.

Know that when darkness returns to claim us
it will be I who will rule the roost of
damnation with fists made from suffering.

Eternal punishment shall not meet shores
of my disappointment though of course you
will be lost in disillusionment so
even if it did you'd never notice,
keep smiling - you don't know what is coming.
