Analysis of Davey Jones Missed One

DAVEY JONES MISSED ONE
Those heavy seas how treacherous they be,
Sank that tug put it below the sea,
People on board they had no chance,
Down she went without a second glance.

Eleven they perished locked up tight,
Fear of pirates throughout the night,
They were doomed and meant to die,
But the cook stayed where he'd lie.

Water seeped in he struggled to live,
Climbed on mattresses in that leaky sieve,
An air bubble gave him a supply of air,
Wet and dark he prayed while there.

For three days Harrison struggled thus,
Hungry and cold he really amazed us,
A rescue team they found him alive,
Oh how miraculous he was able to survive.

His twelve collegues they drowned instantly,
The tug capsized and they were not free,
Dangerous this location with pirates a threat,

Davey grabbed eleven that's all he could get!

I have been writing poems for forty years and written about all sorts of things. Somehow I get creating streaks and can write up to 4 or 5 poems at once of varying subjects. I find it is a good way to record events of the day and bring history to life. The mental aspect is a balance against keeping fit, work and life in general. more…
