Analysis of Broken Inability To Dream
Slipping under the covers,
covering my head with sleep,
I fervently wish to dream
of none but you,
and yet others
come as they please,
creeping into the crevasse
left deeply between your subtlety,
the broken shards of glass,
and the roughness of my heart.
In reality, you take my hand
and lead me through
that very same canyon,
recklessly cradling what I thought
could never be caressed,
could never be sufficiently loved.
In truth, you broke all the windows
of the house in which I kept my dreams,
shattering my foundation
and helping me to rebuild
something so revered,
now, you only want
to be let inside for return,
to see the masterpiece you have created.
