Analysis of As You Carry On

Who will get a part of you as you carry on?
Who will keep the heart of you
when you are gone?

Who will live forevermore as you carry on?
Who will write the caring lore
when you are gone?

Who will ease a crazy day as you carry on?
Who will wipe the tears away
when you are gone?

Who will find a root of joy as you carry on?
Who will use a cheerful ploy
when you are gone?

Who will seal a dark abyss as you carry on?
Who will be the one you miss
when you are gone?

Who will croon a silly tune as you carry on?
Who will cause a sappy swoon
when you are gone?

Who will raise a spirit high as you carry on?
Who will teach others to fly
when you are gone?
