Analysis of A Personal Pain

At the core of your heart,
an emptiness persists.
I cannot feel your hurt,
yet I know it exists.

Although I share your loss,
grief's a personal pain.
And teeters on the edge,
between sane and insane.

I cannot dry your tears,
or take sadness away.
Depression's all too real,
and yet it will not stay.

I will not lie and say,
things will be as before.
It takes time to accept,
you will see him no more.

Rely upon your faith,
to guide you to its source.
We must all confront death,
it's a natural course.

I offer you solace,
when reality's stark.
And a friend with a match,
to strike against the dark.
