Analysis of Somewhere in time

Somewhere in time I lost what was mine,
Somehow our dreams just couldn’t combine.
I fought & I struggled but didn’t know why,
After so many years you told me goodbye.
You never knew just what you had,
All I saw were the hurts and the bad.

Somewhere in love you forgot what to do,
I was left empty, broken & blue.
You dreamed & ached for those in the past,
While I searched the future for love that could last.
You never will know me or enjoy what you had.
Not being good enough makes me so sad.

Somewhere in time I will find someone true,
Who will do all the things you never could do.
You played the game & broke all the rules,
I learned to be wise by watching a fool!
