Analysis of I wish for a smile

Yhohannah Holm 1970 (hemmingford quebec)

I wish for a smile
I wish I could have purple socks with green and pinkish polka dots.
I wish I could have yellow hair with red bows tied here and there.
I wish that I could paint my face
Suspenders and a belt around my waist
I wish I had big shoes to wear and walk in them if I dare.
I wish I could do magic tricks and make five cards turn into six.
I wish I could have a big red nose
stripes and flowers on my clothes.
I wish for a smile and never a frown.
I wish that I could be a clown.
I wish on a star most every night to swing on a trapeze
And then end up in flight.
I wish I could dance upon the moon,
Have tea with the Pharoh’s every afternoon.
I wish for a jacket, I wish for a hat,
I wish so much I could dress like that.
I wish I could serve and entertain.
I wish for the sun to clear up the rain
I wish with all my heart and soul
that every night the moon would full.
I wish for a smile and never a frown
I wish that I could be a clown.
I wish to go marching down the street,
Shaking the hands of people I meet.
I wish to spread joy, I wish to spread light
When everyone  laughs they sleep better at night
I wish no one would be scared
I wish that everybody cared
I wish for a smile and never a frown.
I wish that I could be a clown.
