Analysis of Lockdown

I woke and drew the curtains
To see a world brand new
I gazed upon a bright fresh day
And all there was to do.
I stopped to smell the roses
I took a breath and sighed
It may not be the day I'd planned
But it sure felt good inside.

I'd time to boil the kettle
To stand and watch the flame
Turned on the wireless, danced and sang,
And laughed that I'm insane.
I'd time to see the mountains
Bedecked in snowy white
To notice things I rarely see
Heard birds as they took flight.

I'd time to notice silence
How long since I'd heard that!
Perhaps, I thought, this thing has come
To bring some silence back.

This horrid, lethal killer
Lest it not be said
No good can come of that of course
And yet there's good ahead.
For strong is the community
That leads this battle on
There will be time, there will be strength
To hear Life's silent song.
