Analysis of The Oak Grove Of Éire

Over ice, down hills, blue car, pale moon…
Love is calling me to a fireside in Doire.

Oh! Doire, Doire, Doire,
 My own lovely Doire,
The jewel of the north
West of Éire.

The journey is long but the car is sound
As I drive over hills and through valleys. A
Journey I know well for I've covered it before
On my way to the Oak Grove of Éire...

Oh! Doire, Doire, Doire,
 My own lovely Doire,
The jewel of the north
West of Éire.

And, soon, I will arrive at our lovely Foyle-side
To share a week-end with the colleen of Éire,
While, again, thanking God for residing me
In the beautiful grove of Doire.
