Hallowed Eyes
Cast downward
From grey skies
Tears like rain
Washed away
All the pain
Why did God cry?
Gave us Life
Garden homeward
With no strife
"Try one little taste"
Serpent did say
We did not hesitate
Why did God cry?
Constant wandering
Listening still
Fools pondering
Sent his only Son
We all did kill
The Heavenly One
Why did God cry?
Sword of God did raise
Kill and destroy
All who did not praise
Never did learn
Always found joy
In ways to burn
Why did God cry?
Today the blood lust is strong
We blindly believe
In His name we do no wrong
Why does God cry?
You feel the rain?
See His pain?
