Analysis of Facing Monsters & Demons
Like sheep, I followed the herd. Not knowing exactly where I was going to end up, but I knew where the path was leading. I knew the monsterous things that lay by the road. Waiting to get me alone, afraid of the dark; afraid to be bothered… I knew, but I went anyway.
There is no blame! No blame to those closest to me whom could not dive into a shallow pool. No blame on a young girl; a child who was merely seeking for truth. Something she struggles to find still to this day. I was supposed to walk that dark and lonely path; surrounded by the souls of everyone I loved so much. I was supposed to be afraid to be alone. Where monsters feel the most comfort to jump in on top of you. Already excited to see the fear in your eyes. This is where demons live and hide… I was supposed to drink years of my life away. Looking into an empty bottle like it was a crystal ball. All I could ever see was the emptiness glaring. I was supposed to do drugs and allow myself to falsely identify that feeling for what love was. All of this time, I have been looking for that love, and realizing now that I will never find it. Because I have been searching for myself this entire time.
As such, I don’t mind stepping into the jungle as long as I am moving. And I don’t mind facing monsters and demons anymore. The only thing they can take is my last breath in this temporary home. The best parts of me, the most important parts of me, they can never touch. Like trying to hold a light beam from the sun. I will force them back into the shadows that they call home. Hiding their faces until another moonless night comes along and they can get that girl off by herself. God love her… I hope she doesn’t let the darkness take her mind and finds truth faster than I did. I can see a slew of women. One on top of the other; naked, afraid and their only option to shut off the voices and erase the sweaty faces from their memory. Please don’t follow the darkness, I will help you fight!
