Analysis of Montgomery Clift

I think Montgomery Clift was the most substantial actor ever.
All of his characters were above average in intelligence.
I feel Clift didn’t have a predetermined conception of reality.
A person, got the feeling watching him, that he could read life and all its mysteries.
I know he is well written about but I would like to read more about him.
