Analysis of I ONCE

I once was a bright, shining, golden, beautiful star, who never got any scars, from the needle in my arm. The only thing I wanted to do was be there for you, but now I know that I won't ever show, just how much pain you put me through, all because of the things I did for you.

You once were my friend to the very end, almost leaving me for dead, on the lonely street, without a sheet, to get a peaceful night sleep. The hell you put me through, it all came unglued the night that I left you for someone who was true.

I put a needle in my arm, thinking that I could do no harm, just to take away the hurt and pain that was driving me insane, playing and messing with my brain. I sunk into this big black hole diving into the great unknown. I was hoping that I was wrong, but the feeling was just too strong, from beginning to end, you were there when I needed a friend.

I betrayed my family, feeling high on gravity, like I was being electrified all through the night, hiding in a corner all alone, without anywhere to go and nowhere to roam. I had nowhere to go except into the great unknown hoping I was wrong, just trying to be strong.

You were my drug and my best friend, for 4 1/2 years, that gave me all these fears, that I was so afraid to shed my tears, I showed you just how weak I was, by sharing you with all these thugs.

You broke my heart in two, when you told me "I don't love you." You made me cry for the last time, because I want to live my life so this is my last good bye to you, I hope you find somebody else who is true and loves you.
