I've been so close before but this time I won.
I beat the clock race, I beat everything.
I beat all odds against my favor.
I beat my head. I literally won.

About this poem
So this was about me finally winning against my ego and my self-esteem with my inner head struggle against myself, I firmly beat the problem killing me. But I didn't beat my depression - no - I didn't beat it at all.
