Analysis of The beast in my dreams
I fell in love with the beast in my dreams.
I fell hard and dreamed of what life could be.
You showed me the tender side that no one else could see.
You played the part of a saving Grace that was meant for only me.
Then you tore it apart with your betrayal and lies.
While saying you love me and looking in my eyes
So why the fuck do I still feel you in my soul
Why through all the pain would I still hold on
My only way to be was alone and free
But I felt so free when it was you and me
But then the days came where it was constant negativity
No matter what I did you would complain with continuity
You belittled me with jokes and laughed in my face
While I continued to love you every damn day
You insulted my life, my look and my kids
And then laughed your way through all of my tears
You left me while i was crying on the ground
When I needed you most you were no where around
Like holding on tight to a rope with no grip
My hands would slice open everytime you would slip
And when I look back now I can’t understand
How I ever thought you were even a friend
When you love a soul you don’t let them drown
You pick them back up and you don’t put them down
My love wasn’t enough for us to just be
And after all you were the beast in my dreams
