Analysis of Stars Are Everywhere

Lori A. Powell 1962 (Saint Mary’s PA)

Written by Lori A. Powell

Have you’ve ever seen a shooting star and wonder where it goes.?
Perhaps it comes here to live where we are
Stars are everywhere you know.
Stars don’t  just hang in the sky and twinkle all night
They do all kinds of things and they like to do them right.
There are many stars that dance on the water in the late afternoon sun.
There are starfish that live in the water. You can find them at the ocean.
There are movie stars that get a star put on the sidewalk with their name on it.
There are music stars that get an award when their song is a #1 hit.
There is a gold star on the top of the page when you pass the test.
There is the brightest star that God made as a symbol for the birth of Jesus.
There are co stars, famous stars and superstars too.
There are track stars  and all stars perhaps one lives with you.
There are four star hotels and fifty stars on our flag.
And sometimes you may see a star on the front of a horses head.
There are star fruit and star flowers and blazing stars too.
But, a shining star will bring out the best in everything they do.
Stars are everywhere, they do all kinds of things.
They live right here where we are.
If you look you can see them.

About this poem

When I see the sunlight glisten on the river waters I see little stars dancing back and forth. They make it look so easy to move across the top of the water. When I look at a singer performing on the TV screen, they make it look so easy to sing so beautifully. Then, I began to look for stars in other places and this is what I found.

I enjoy writing. I’ve written 2 children’s books. “Les Lobster” and “Stars are everywhere” I live in the forest where the river meets the ocean. Sometimes it’s easier for me to write than to talk to others. Ironically, I used to be a switchboard operator. I write because it seems right to write. Plus it keeps my mouth from getting into trouble. more…
