Analysis of The Merry Have No Form

Naveed Akram 1973 (London)

The merry breeze wanders like a rainstorm,
This untimely home of currents is of no form;
An acorn can be split, a devil can be chained,
A backlit avenue stares at the growth explained.

The merry pains are of little gain, like murder and gain,
But like gain and surrender, as tall as someone can detain.
The soldiers are about to submit to the sands,
With campaign after campaign, in their hives of lands.
