Analysis of I'm Okay
Tragedy is within all,
Some think something must happen for it to show,
And others are just always on the cusp of the fall,
They hold and grip but silently wallow,
The pain and suffering are something they must swallow,
While there are ways to push the feeling away,
Some say they feel worse, and others are unlike themselves,
They want to feel, but not so much,
Sometimes it’s better to hide from others, then face the world and feel alone,
They try and try but the pain is too much to clutch,
The feeling of being a burden is the point of stopping,
Others ask and ask if they can help,
But the response will always be, “I’m okay,”
Family and friends don’t want to pry,
But they worry and desire to help,
They don’t want to give up, but it’s hard when they’re shut out,
The sadness gets darker, and the thoughts linger longer,
The darkness of their room and the comfort of their bed,
Is all that seems to calm their head,
They try to think happier,
And try to let others in,
But they just get sappier,
Their music seems to close out the feelings,
But they don’t want to be lost in their thoughts,
They strive for the outside world.
I want to be open, but the thoughts always win.
