Analysis of FOR YOU.
Nicodemus 1997 (St. Louis)
The soft sound of crickets in Autumn
Motors humming past the train tracks
Gentle smoke billows in the breeze
And here, now
I feel at home, with you
The anger, the melancholy
Dissipating into the night sky
With your presence beside me.
I search for the constellations,
Wishing for some semblance of normalcy—
But what do I need normal for?
When I have you, your touch,
For the first time
My gut churns pleasantly
My heart thrums in unison, with yours
The sound of birds in the morn
Lull me to sleep
With you by my side.
