Analysis of TABULA RASA
Long ago...
I heard the cry of the new born baby — all agog.
Mom said his folded hands were full
of his livelihood and sustenance.
Now, in his immaculate maturity —
I heard that he slept and never woke up
Oh! Danny said his house got burnt.
Iya Deji claimed he was terminally sick.
I heard all, but what did he take along;
when he was dying?
Ngozi was born, seven days ago.
I had to check the fantasy — I then forcefully open the folded hands
Oops! It was all a lie. Now I know -
We came with nothing
And we are absolutely going with nothing.
