Analysis of The Rat Race
Adigun Lateef Oladimeji 1976 (Lagos)
Tussle for power
Struggle for wealth
Tango for leadership
Fierce competition
Who crosses the hurdle first
Everybody is running
Helter skelter, chasing shadows
Leaving certainty, Pursuing uncertainty
Leaders mortgage the future of their subjects
People swindle one another
Corruption and bribery is the order of the day
Evil reign supreme
Ritualist go into conclaves
Waiting to pounce on their preys
Assasins murder unchallenged
Contentment is unpopular
Greedily we embark on futile journey
Until we meet our waterloo
The Rat Race will continue unabated
