Analysis of Mrs River
Why hello Mrs River! I beam when I see you, I simply cannot help myself.
The luminescence reflects against your waters, spreading your brilliance for all to see.
You splash at my face, and I laugh at your silly ways.
I step into you without hesitation,
your water flows and wraps around me, you are warm and so enticing.
I lay, floating on my back and you sway me, gently you guide me as you always have.
Suddenly you grip me tight and pull me into your currents, but this current is different from the others you have lead me down before.
I tip my head forward to get a better view, and to my astonish an enormous waterfall is raging ahead.
I’m fearful and anxious, suddenly I’m no longer floating, but standing in your water petrified of this new direction.
Your flowing current halts, as you run your warm water through my legs and against my back.
I close my eyes absorbing your pure unconditional love. I feel so safe here, with you.
You run your waters higher between my legs and glide into places that make me gasp.
I feel you pawing at me, gentle at first, then dire to the touch.
Do you trust me? Your voice rings in my ears so thunderous, but so very hushed as well.
Mrs river? How can it be, that I, me, yes me, can feel alive for a second time?
Your delicious smell engulfs me, no words are needed, for your soul is mine, and mine is yours, and naturally I relent.
I feel something wet touch my face, has it begun to rain?
No, I myself have begun to weep, but not to fret Mrs river, for these tears are of sheer joy.
Your water rises, and I feel confident in my first step, then my second, I glide within your waters seemingly weightless.
We follow this rhythm until we reach the edge, intertwined, together.
The waterfall rages just as before, my feet stop just before I reach the edge.
But I do not jump, at least not yet.
Oh no, instead I rest here, and I ponder as you surround me again.
I gaze at the waterfall, in all of its magnificence.
It is tempting I must admit, the danger of slipping past the edge.
But Mrs river, this is groundless, I have no way of knowing if it is safe.
Your waters surround my shoulders, I can once again feel your warmth.
We stay like this, looped together unsure of what’s next.
But you, Mrs rivers, so majestic and beautiful and all knowing, ask me once again.
Do you trust me?
I lean into you releasing my inhibitions.
I look once again at the waterfall in front of me, I still remain here, resting, pondering.
But I now know, no matter which way the water flows, I am part of you.
Always and forever
