Analysis of Intertwined

I opened my eyes and you weren’t there
I dreamed a beautiful life
I saw the coast
I saw the sand between my toes
I felt your hand in mine leading me to the ocean edge
I felt the ocean spray
I felt the air breath
A new life
We embrace
The feel of your close skin on mine
My heart full and content
It felt so real

I awoke
I opened my eyes and you weren’t there
My life is beautiful
I’m renewed with pride
I’m filled with joy
My mind sees what’s destined for me
You
I opened my eyes and you weren’t there
How much longer I do not know
It’s not mine to know how long the road goes
My heart knows it will some day
Until the day my eyes open and you are there
My heart remains true to you alone

I close my eyes and you’re not there
