Analysis of The Watchman
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
I have been made a watchman,
As a watchman for this home;
From my mouth, give attention,
If you ever try to roam.
You shall hear warnings from me,
For the wicked shall then die;
You surely shall also see,
Just how they do cheat and lie.
Do not speak in warning them,
They die from iniquity;
Judgment from God will condemn,
For their rude audacity.
If you warn them to confess,
And does not turn from his way;
He shall die for his transgress,
As they continue to stray.
