Analysis of L.B.

Laura Bottchenbaugh 1990 (North Carolina)

As I lay in bed
Wondering how life would be without me
I feel the urge to try
And sleep forever
Tucked away in bed
Finally sleeping peacefully
Dreaming of my true happiness.
The voices in my head finally silenced
Finally feel happy
Finally feel free….

Then I’m awaken
Back to the nightmare
Where I’ve tried to
Escape. As I lay looking
Around, I see my family
Looking down at me
With tears rolling down
Their sadden face.

I then realize that
I am not alone…..

Growing up I used to love writing poems. After having 3 children, it kind of put a halt on it for a while. After 14 years, I finally wrote a little something. I hope whoever reads this enjoys it. more…
