Analysis of My first friend
She smiled at me, like any stranger would.
Can I trust her benevolence
Or is she just like the others?
Just hiding behind a veneer
Hiding all her ulterior motives and turpitude
I should have trusted my instincts.
I shouldn't have let her in.
I shouldn't have let her see my weakness.
Yet I did... I welcomed her with open arms
Like a fool.
And then she played me,
Used me, and then threw me away
Now all that remains is the Shards
Of a Broken Glass once Whole.

About this poem
This is a poem written about my very first friend. I've been quite a lonely person for as long as I can remember. No one really liked me. Then a hand was placed in mine and she brought me out into the world. Yet in the end she also left me like everyone else. No one really remembers their very first friend yet mine was very important to me and she always will be even though she hurt me. This poem symbolises our broken friendship.
