Analysis of Drug Test

Mom, I’m anxious, can you help
I’ve tried to not call, but there’s no one else

I just wanna talk beyond what’s new
I promise I’m working on coping tools

The other day I found a drug
It made me think, a simple nudge

When taught, you cemented your beliefs, however,  there is more to what drugs mean.

Despite the lessons you remember,
a new lens changes the picture.

There are the drugs that able you to study
Drugs that make you feel like somebody

Drugs that make you go to a friend
Drugs that help your spiraling head

The drugs that help you go to sleep
The drugs that calm your pacing feet

The drugs that allow one more breath
When all you wanna do is get some rest

The drugs that convince you it’s okay
Despite being convinced it’s your last day

The drugs that let you have a Choice
An opportunity to share one more voice

Mom i just wanna make sure you know
That not all drugs are criminal
