Analysis of Young Poet
Walt Sisikin 1953 (Santiago)
So, Little Johnny though that he was a poet
Except, the rhymes were not his and he didn’t know it
The rhymes were originally his dad’s, out of his dad’s mouth they came
Little Johnny only listened, wrote them down and considered them his, just the same
You see, Little Johnny’s dad was not present in the room
When Little Johnny listened to the tape recorder over zoom
Such was Little Johnny’s life
Full of mysteries, dad adulation and strife
Little Johnny had never known his dad at all
So, Little Johnny had created a dad avatar and was having a ball
The AI had been a lot of help indeed
Without the AI the avatar would not have been believed
The words that came out of the avatar were so real
They sounded true, near and the rhymes had an exceptional feel
Dad AI had done it, Dad was all Johnny needed in life to become a poet
Except the rhymes were not his and he didn’t know it.
