Hvor flyver min Tanke imorgen den Dag?
Den evigt leve jo vilde;
Mit Legeme bliver et sjunket Vrag,
Men Draaben fra Evigheds Kilde,
Mit Jordliv? Som Blinket det brat henfoer!

Min Tanke har kæmpet en Kamp saa stor,
I den var Vor Herre tilstede.
— — Min Barnetroes hellige „Fadervor",
Vær du mig mit Hvilesteds Klæde!
Jeg lukker mit Øie til evig Ro,
Hvad eller til Klarhed i Gud og Tro.
