Analysis of A TRUE TALE

When father-in-law Morden
was recalled by his maker,
Daughter, widow, and son-in law Ken
visited the predetermined undertaker.

Fluffy white clouds drifted by
Late in the month of August
silently alone through the sky.
Summer weather remained robust.

Mild temperatures and humidity low
created a perfect summer day.
The funeral director greeted us with a bow,
condolences, and had much more to say.

We were assailed with more options and cost galore,
 even though arrangements were previously made. Widows rejections, the undertaker continued to ignore.
She stood firm on the fact all expenses were prepaid.        

The morticians persistence became pervasive.
Widow Smith, usually polite and amiable,
with fists clenched became a bit abrasive:
“ Morden wanted the cheapest dam thing available!”

Instantly. we four were stunned and shaken
by a flash of lightening and deafening roar. No one had doubt that Morden had spoken!
Nothing else need be said, we left by the door.

The weather was still bright and just right..
No storm clouds were anywhere or had been in sight.
