Analysis of Essential Resurrection
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
This is delivered as first of all,
The importance you should receive;
That Jesus Christ did take the fall,
For sin through Scripture, we believe.
Defeat sin as per the Scriptures,
According to His disciples;
Revived to make us new creatures,
Four of them then wrote the Gospels.
Christ appeared to hundreds more,
Though now they have fallen asleep;
Appearing to the rich and poor,
Showing that death He could defeat.
To one who was untimely born,
Not worthy as an apostle;
But was tasked while I sojourn,
For praising worship to wassail.
I am persecuted each day,
By those who do not understand;
The reasons to trust and obey,
The unseen God who does command.
By His grace, I am what I am,
His grace towards me was not in vain;
Praising the Son who is the Lamb,
That released me from guilt and pain.
Tirelessly as I labor,
For the grace of God is with me;
Spreading His Word to my neighbor,
With the hopes for insight to see.
Whether then it is me to preach,
That you comprehend to believe;
Or another who tries to teach,
Assures salvation you receive.
