Analysis of Sleep Awaits

Hannah S 2002 (Marianna)

Eyelids heavy and sight getting bleary
like the grey storm whirling on a day so dreary
I lock the door after closing backyard gates
and I know before me sleep awaits
Mismatched reveries clash in war
of familiar dreams and ones never seen before
I try to remember if I closed the backyard gates
I close my tired eyes, sleep awaits
