Analysis of Remember

And this is where our paths divide, our separate lives no more to hide,
How much I wish this day had never come
I see, though dark, the road beyond, where brighter dreams of life abscond
And hide within the shadows of the sun,
But I know, through all the sad tomorrow’s, I have grown from knowing you,
And as we live the lives before us:

Remember me, and I’ll remember you
Remember all the laughter and the tears,
Remember now, the joys that saw us through
And the memories will last throughout the years

If only I could turn the time, to live again this life of mine,
When dreams were as they long ago had been
But as the tides of time move on, those dreams could never last for long
And I’d only have to say good-by again
So I know, through all the days before me, I would not change the ones behind,
And as the future draws us now apart:

Remember me, and I’ll remember you
Remember all the laughter and the tears,
Remember now, the joys that saw us through
And the memories will last throughout the years

For you will always be, alive within my heart
