Analysis of Tonight
Amber Doop-Brody 1980 (South Dakota)
Another sleepless night
Filled with anxious dread
Hyper-vigilant, mind is reeling
You can't take back
All you've said.
I wish on shooting stars
And I pray to God above
To take away the panic and fear
Created by a man I loved.
Turning on the television
Or listening to the radio
Takes away the ability to hear
What's happening below.
So I sit here in the silence
My thoughts my only friend
When it's 3 o'clock in the morning
And everyone's in bed.
They tell me that my fear will pass
But it will never go away
I'll look over my shoulder and jump at noises
Overreacting until my dying day.
That's what steals my sleep tonight
It's the same as all the others
Wondering if tonight is the night
I'll come face to face with the monster.
