Analysis of For in This Melody, There’s a Power

Oscar Auliq-Ice 1994 (Port Elizabeth)

I start to sing
A melody that makes my spirit take wing
A tune of joy, a tune of love
A song that echoes through the skies above

With each note, my heart feels light
My worries and fears take flight
For in this moment, all is right
And I'm filled with a sense of delight

The world may be troubled, the world may be gray
But with a melodious song, I find my way
Through the storms and the trials, I stand strong
And with each beat of my heart, I sing this song

A song of hope, a song of peace
A song that makes the darkness cease
For in this melody, there's a power
A power that grows stronger by the hour

With a melodious song, I embrace the day
And all that it brings, come what may
For I know that with each step I take
My heart will sing, and my soul will wake

So let the world spin, let the winds blow
For with a melodious song, I'll go
Through all the twists and turns of life
I'll find my way, and I'll do it right

And when my journey's finally done
And my song is sung, and my race is run
I'll look back with a heart full of grace
And thank the Lord for the gift of this place.
