Analysis of Anzac legend

Matthew rundle 1982 (Leongatha)

Who are the diggers and what did they do This is a question you're kid's may ask you.

You tell them of these men Who fought our warring friend's They fought both day and night An awful bloody sight

They fought them on the sand And in a foreign land The men they were so young Confronted with a gun

The men they tried to run Got shot at one by one Some they lost their lives Unlucky who did survive

They struggled through their lives Friends, fathers, brothers, cousins Picked off in their dozens

Bodies everywhere A stench that filled the air Bullets whizzing round The Screams the sights and sounds

Brave souls who had no fear So when your kids ask you

Whatever will you do Anzacs hero's through and through

True Australians this is true They paid a bloody debt Which we will remember And never shall forget
 Lest we forget
