Analysis of Cedar Stand, Fragrant

I enter its canopy
Evinrude left back at the sparkling
Rushes. Sandy landing.
Bay winds were a tad bit tricky.
But now safe and
Feeling welcome in the shade.

Red squirrel gives the
Saucy alert, scolding.
I pause in respect
Waiting, watching, breathing slow.
Red headed woodpecker
Gives the OK signal.
Come on in Friend.

Last time here I spotted
One young deer
Tail flicking. Eyes on lookout.
Scratchings of a porcupine on old
Tree trunk. Such claws!
White throat singing the National Song.
Chee chee chee
Canada, Canada, Canada.
My Dad’s favourite.

Many a fishing trip.
With his good buddy Bill.
IPA bottles dangling in the chilly
Water.
Ham sandwich in the box.
Whistling some
Stompin Tom Connors.
Gem of CBC, F M.
