Analysis of LESS IDYLL

Siphosethu Tonjeni 2000 (Port elizabeth)

VOICES IN MY HEAD SCREAM AT ME
 AM I NOT WORTHY
AM I SHAMELESS,
I SAW HER WALK OUT YOUR HOUSE WITHOUT NOTICE MY EMOTIONS ROSE TO THE PIT OF MY STOMACH
SO SAD HOW THESE MEMORIES ARE STILL ETCHED IN MY MIND, PLAYING OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN
EVERY TIME I CLOSE MY EYES, I CAN STILL FEEL HIS HOT BREATH AGAINST THE NAPE OF MY NECK NEAR MY EAR AS HE FED ME LIES
FUNNY HOW I USED TO GET BUTTERFLIES WITH JUST THE THOUGHT OF YOU, THE SOUND OF YOUR VOICE MADE MY HEART HOP WITH PALPITATIONS
OH
SWEET NECTAR REGARDLESS OF THE POISONOUS FRUIT;
STILL UNABLE TO DENY THAT YOU BOUGHT FLARE TO MY NIGHTS, A SMILE FROM YOU MADE MY DAY
YET A BITTERSWEET FEELING TAKES OVER
I'M ASHAMED ASHAMED
ASHAMED I EVER STOOD IN NAKED VULNERABILITY IN FRONT OF YOU
