Analysis of I cannot bring you with me

Heather Lydia Thornhill 1981 (Manchester)

When the angels hark and God feels
And man calls time on me
I'll ask when you will join me
But the answer a long time may be
For if all the mother's
Took all of their children
There wouldn't be anyone here
To bring joy to the living
A joy that is needed my dear
Through our souls witness of day
So if your eyes and ears grow weary
Perhaps you'll understand
How then you too may have to let go
Of most faithful hands
